Plastering steel mesh to make the wall stronger

1. Basic knowledge of steel wire mesh
Wall plastering wire mesh is also called insulation welded wire mesh, plastering wire mesh, small wire welded wire mesh, whitewash wall wire mesh, and gray hanging wire mesh. Wall plastering steel wire mesh is divided into hot-dip galvanized welded mesh and electro-galvanized welded mesh. Hot-dip galvanized welded mesh can withstand strong pressure after being formed and is not easy to corrode after hot-dip. The zinc layer is firm and has good toughness. Electro-galvanized welded wire mesh is also called cold-dip galvanized welded wire mesh, which is changed to wire mesh for wall plastering. It has the advantages of white color, strong and practical.
The specifications of steel wire mesh consist of four parts: wire diameter, mesh, size, and surface treatment. The wire diameter is mainly 0.5mm to 1.5mm, and the mesh openings are mainly 0.6X0.6cm, 1.27X1.27cm, 1.9x1.9cm, and 2.54x2.54cm. The dimensions are 1m in height, 1.2m in height and 1.5m in height.

2. The specific function of steel wire mesh
1. Can prevent wall plaster layer from cracking
Due to the different thermal expansion and contraction of different materials such as concrete, blocks, and mortar, as well as the different expansion rates caused by the concrete of the exterior wall, the strength of the masonry and the strength of the plastering mortar, the degree of cracking is caused. In order to prevent this kind of cracking , we use steel mesh to connect materials of different strengths to form a whole to make the expansion rate more uniform. Therefore, steel mesh is used to prevent and reduce cracks on the exterior wall.
2. It can increase the adhesion of mortar and prevent the mortar from detaching.
When encountering natural disasters such as earthquakes, elevators cannot be used. Stairs and aisles are the only escape routes. Earthquakes cause the walls to shake and the plaster layer may fall, which may cause secondary damage to the people escaping. Steel wires are hung on the walls. The net can enhance the adhesion of the mortar, reduce the shedding of the mortar, and reduce the risk of secondary injury to personnel.
3. Construction technology of steel wire mesh
Steel wire mesh is generally fixed with steel nails or nails and iron sheets every 300mm*300mm. The width of the steel wire mesh is generally 300mm, and the overlap width with different base layers is not less than 150mm on each side. The hanging mesh must be even and firm. During the construction, The body shall not be fixed with nails.
4. The layout position of steel wire mesh
In actual construction sites, plastering steel wire mesh is often used in more places than described in the drawings, usually in the following locations:
1. Steel wire mesh will be laid at the intersection between the brick wall and the main concrete structure;
2. Steel wire mesh will be laid at the intersection between the brick wall and the secondary structure;
3. Stairwells and corridors will be covered with steel mesh;
4. Lay steel wire mesh in the flue well;
5. The wall is slotted and the pipelines are laid concealed and then the steel wire mesh is laid;
6. Plaster behind the distribution box and fire box;
7. The exterior wall is covered with anti-crack mortar and steel mesh;
8. The walls of the aerated block are covered with steel mesh and other locations.
